P/S: I miss Fatina (Horie Yui) a lot. Glad to see the relationship between Fatina and Jil is getting better now although it is not going to last. It is great to able to watch Tower of Druaga again for free. Thanks Gonzo and Crunchyroll!!
Natsume Takashi and Madara
The animation of the opening and ending is a lot of better than the season 1. The opening of Season 2 is better than season 1 which i really bored with it already after listening for a lot of times ><.
I love the ending song which is sing by Kourin. “Aishiteru” is very soft song and really helped me calm down my mind when i listening to it.
Overall, both Op and Ed are quite good and i wouldn’t dare to skip it while watching Natsume Yuujinchou :).
“Ano Hi Time Machine” by Long Shot Party
“Aishiteru” by Kourin
There a lot of new anime will be start broadcasting in Japan or in video streaming site starting this January. This is my Winter 2008/2009 preview and this entry is going to be long. There a lot of anime but the list is not as exciting as Fall 2008 anime. But still there are still a few that i would like to give a try to watch it. Hope they’re not going to disappoint me.
1)Zoku natsume no yuujinchou
The November issue (on sale on September 24) of Hakusensha’s LaLa magazine will reportedly announce that the second anime season based on Yuki Midorikawa’s Natsume Yūjin-Chō shōjo ghost-story manga will premiere on January on Japan’s TV Tokyo station. The first anime season is scheduled to end next Monday. The new season will showcase more characters from the manga such as Kuro-Nyanko-sensei, Gen, and Tama-chan.
The story revolves around Natsume, a boy who has been able to see ghosts since he was little. Unfortunately, humans shun him, and there is not much fondness between him and ghosts either. One day, he inherits a Yūjin-Chō (“Book of Friends”) from his grandmother. The book is actually full of contracts that his grandmother made to trap ghosts. As one ghost after another shows up, Natsume tries to release or help them — even while many of them seek vengeance on him. (ANN)
I watch the first season so i am going to watch the second season. This series is quite good if you like supernatural genre anime.
2)The tower of Druaga ~the sword of Uruk~
Second season of this original animation based on Namco’s The Tower of Druaga game franchise.
The long awaited “Summer of Anu” has come. It is a season that comes but once every few years and during which the powers of the monsters within the Tower wane thanks to the grace of the great god Anu. Each Summer of Anu, the armies of the Uruk Kingdom secure their strongholds within the Tower, aiming to eventually conquer the upper floors. Decades of re-fortification and battle have passed since the infamous adventures of Gil and Ki. Their story has now become a legend. Now, finally, the third Summer of Anu has arrived. (Crunchyroll)
Definitely going to watch the second season of tower of druaga even though it is not going to be as interesting or as good as tales of abyss (adapt from games) . I would like to know what will going to happen to Jill since he has been betray by his bro, Neeba. Horie Yui (fatima) and Minori Chihara (Coopa) will be coming back as a voice actor for this series.
3)Shikabane Hime Kuro
Second season of the adaptation of Yoshiichi Akahito’s supernatural manga. The story is about an exorcist girl called “Shikabane Hime” (Corpse Princess). Her name is Makina Hoshimura, an undead girl who hunts down 108 corpses in order to go to heaven (THAT Animeblog)
Don’t have time and chance to watch the first series. Not going to watch this second series of shikabane hime.
4)Birdy the mighty decode: D
Second season of the newest adaptation of Masami Yuki’s manga. An OVA adapted from the same was released in 1996.
Birdy Cephon Altera is a Federation agent chasing interplanetary criminals to the planet Earth. While in pursuit of one, she accidentally kills a high school boy named Tsutomu Senkawa. Fortunately for Tsutomu, there is a way to keep him alive, although he ends up merged into Birdy’s body and must remain so until the repair of his body is complete.
So Tsutomu is stuck sharing a body with an attractive, strong – if impulsive – space police agent, while trying to keep his family and friends from finding out about about Birdy. In the meantime, Birdy continues her investigation. Together, they take on a secretive group of evil aliens planning to perform experiments on the unsuspecting inhabitants of Earth. (Wikipedia)
Uh. Didn’t watch the first series so i gonna skip this want too.
Hajime Kanzaka, the author of the original Slayers light novels, had already indicated that the ongoing Slayers Revolution television anime series was conceived as the first part of a storyline that will last half a year (with a break in between). (ANN)
Sorry. Not interested to watch this series.
6)Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger
Newest anime adaptation of George Morikawa’s long-running boxing manga. The following is a general summary of the series not specifically related to this adaptation:
Makunouchi Ippo is an ordinary high school student in Japan. Since he spends most of his time away from school helping his mother run the family business, he doesn’t get to enjoy his younger years like most teenagers. Always a target for bullying at school (the family fishing business grants him a distinct odor), Ippo’s life is one of hardship.
One of these after-school bullying sessions turns Ippo’s life around for the better, as he is saved by a boxer named Takamura. He decides to follow in Takamura’s footsteps and train to become a boxer, giving his life direction and purpose. Ippo’s path to perfecting his pugilistic prowess is just beginning … (AnimeNfo)
Even though Madhouse involve in the production of this series, i don’t think this series will going to attract a lot of new viewers. I decide to skip this series as well.
7)Konnichi wa Anne
Adaptation of Budge Wilson’s new children’s novel Before Green Gables, a prequel to Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic 1908 novel Anne of Green Gables
Before Green Gables (translated as Konnichiwa Anne by Akiko Usagawa) describes the early life of the Canadian orphan girl Anne, before she meets her adoptive family Matthew and Marilla in the first Anne novel, Anne of Green Gables. (ANN)
Shoujo + Historical + Drama = Not my cup of taste. I like shoujo anime such as Honey and clover and Ouran High School Host Club but the combination of shoujo + historical + drama is not going to work for me.
From the island of Bardos in the Aegean Sea comes a new threat to humanity in the form of Doctor Hell and his army of mechanical beasts. However, a new hero stands in his way: Mazinger Z, a giant robot built out of the indestructible metal chogokin and equipped with an arsenal of advanced weaponry. Piloting Mazinger Z is hotheaded teenager Kouji Kabuto, who strives to avenge the death of his grandfather and protect Japan from Doctor Hell’s forces. (ANN)
I don’t like it at all. Looking at the animation quality, i will probably put this series in my blacklist.
9)Afro samurai resurrection
Afro Samurai (Academy Award ® nominee Samuel L. Jackson) avenged his father and found a life of peace. But the legendary master is forced back into the game by a beautiful and deadly woman from his past. The sparks of violence dropped along Afro’s bloody path now burn out of control – and nowhere are the flames of hatred more intense than in the eyes of Sio (Lucy Liu: Kill Bill). She won’t quit until Afro is schooled in the brutal lessons he dealt those who stood in his way. There’s no such thing as final vengeance. The cycle of bloodshed spinning around the Number One Headband must roll on. (Anidb)
Look like a decent series but gonzo is the one behind the production. I have to think twice before watch it. Gonzo doesn’t produce at lot of good series that i can think of. I really doubt and don’t like their animation production at all except Tower of Druaga.
10)Maria-sama ga miteru 4
Fourth adaptation of the light novels written by Oyuki Konno.
Maria-sama ga Miteru’s story revolves around the students of the Lillian Girls’ Academy (a Catholic school), and can be considered character-driven, focusing on interactions between the characters rather than any sort of ongoing plot or goal to attain. At Lillian Girls’ School, there is a tradition known as the sœur system (sœur being French for “sister”), in which a second, or third-year student, the grande sœur (”big sister”), will give her rosary to a junior student, the petite sœur (”little sister”), and promise to look after them and guide them. (Wikipedia)
I really hate this type of anime. But if you like this kind of anime (shoujo ai, slice of life, comedy, yuri) give it a try, maybe not as bad as i think.
11)Kemono no Soja Erin
Adaptation of the novel series written by Uehashi Nahoko, of Seirei no Moribito fame.
The story is about a young woman who is drawn into a war between kingdoms. She has the ability to command animals, including dragons, as if she was playing a musical instrument. (AniDB)
I will expecting this anime will be gonna be as great as Seirei no Moribito since the author of the both series is the same person. Production I.G doing a great job in production a lot of decent/good anime such as Seirei no moribito, tsubasa chronicle movie/ova, blood+, Ghost in the shell and i expecting nothing less from this studio.
12) Ride Back
Ride Back tells the story of a girl and her “iron horse” robot motorcycle in 2020, a tumultuous time of anti-government student protests.
Although Nana Mizuki and Paku Romi will be a seiyuu for main characters of this series, i am not going to watch it anyway. Unless it can be as interesting as Initial D, maybe i will condiser it. If you consider yourself as a Nana Mizuki or Paku Romi’s diehard fans, go and watch this series.
13)Genji Monogatari Senneki
Adaptation of Murasaki Shikibu’s classic novel The Tale of Genji. It was originally planned to be an adaptation of Waki Yamato’s shouji manga series Asakiyumemishi ~ The Tale of Genji, but that idea was scrapped by the director. The following is a short plot introduction of the original classic novel:
The work recounts the life of a son of a Japanese emperor, known to readers as Hikaru Genji, or “Shining Genji”. Neither appellation is his actual name: Genji is simply another way to read the Chinese characters for the real-life Minamoto clan, to which Genji was made to belong. For political reasons, Genji is relegated to commoner status (by being given the surname Minamoto) and begins a career as an imperial officer. The tale concentrates on Genji’s romantic life and describes the customs of the aristocratic society of the time. (Wikipedia)
Love story?Nevermind. NEXT!
14) Vipers’ Creed
The story revolves around the members of a private military company (PMC), and the uneasy tension between them and the regular military after a war that caused massive environmental destruction. (ANN)
First impression: Looks so Boring. So no.
15)Chrome Shelled Regios
Based on a light novel series by Shuusuke Amagi, illustrated by Miyuu.
The world was infected by “Pollutant” years ago – world cracked open and generally screwed up. This Pollutant spawns nasty “Pollutant Beasts”, but it’s also resulted in people gaining special powers. The towns that now litter the world are protected by alchemists and are mobile – these are the “Regios” of the title.
The story follows a guy named Lei-Fon Alseif who starts at a new school following the disappearance of his childhood friend and gets recruited into the special 17th Platoon in order to combat Pollutant Beasts.
The plot of this series is not interesting enough to attract me to watch.Gonna to skip this one as well.
Adapted from the Leaf eroge.
The White Album game centers around Tōya Fujī, a college student dating a rising idol singer named Yuki Morikawa. The game deals with the challenges to the couple’s relationship from the other people at Fujī’s college, Morikawa’s work, and elsewhere. (ANN)
Going to wait after this series is finish and get some feedback before watch this series. Aya Hirano and Nana Mizuki will be one of the voice actor for this series. A little bits of warning, there might be yuri content in this anime since it adapted from the Leaf eroge. Imagine Aya Hirano Aya Hirano as a lesbian(maybe?), I think a lot of people will going to download this series that including me. LOL
The story centers on a sophomore named Kanako who enrolls in all-girls school because she has a phobia of men and wants to find her destined yuri partner. She meets a captivating freshman named Mariya who fits her criteria — except her seemingly ideal mate happens to be a cross-dressing sadistic boy. (ANN)
I just watch this series today. It give me a quite few of good laugh. Sarcastics and harsh comment that made by Matsurika and Mariya are so cruel and mean but at the same it is really funny. I think you can learn some few japanese word just to curse people. But beware don’t let your kids/children (under 18) watch this series or Sayonara Zetsubou sensei, they going to hang themselves up later or cursing like Matsurika. LOL.
Anyway, overall i think this anime is really good romance comedy anime if they can keep the animation quality throughout the series. Btw, the seiyuu of Matsurika is Inoue, Marina (seiyuu of Yoko “Tengen Toppa gurren lagann” and Chiri kitsu “Sayonara Zetsubou sensei)
The story revolves around a typical high school boy named Kakeru Daichi and the can of melon juice soda that he bought from a vending machine. The can suddenly transforms into a beautiful but standoffish girl that Kakeru nicknames “Melon,” and more “Akikan” (“empty can”) girls appear. However, Akikan girls need to be infused with carbon dioxide from kissing to survive. (ANN)
Fanservices anime (such as kanokon, to-love ru , sekirei)? Sigh =_=”. I have enough of this kind of anime.
In 4 years time the competition that will decide who the next Queen shall be will start. The strongest warrior will continue to rule the country according to tradition and expand it. The contestants need only be older than 12 years. They need not be human, intelligent or even of that country. The rules for the tournament are simple: murder is allowed. Any weapon can be chosen. The winner is decided when one of the participants flees or can’t move anymore. Such event is broadcasted trough a crystal sphere by the court’s magic teacher to all population to see and enjoy. (ANN)
Aya Hirano and Mamiko Noto (Enma Ai, Kotomoi Ichinose, Nogizaka Haruhi, Yakumo Tsukamoto) will be one of the cast of this series. Although both of them in that series, i really hate this kind of ecchi a.k.a fanservices anime. So going to skip. However, for ecchi lovers fan don’t miss it. Give it a try.
20)Asu no Yoichi
The titular character Yoichi decides to leave his family’s mountainside home after his father tells him there is nothing more he can learn in martial arts there. The teenaged boy ends up in a martial arts dojo in the city with four girls. (ANN)
A boy + Four girls = Bad combination (most of the times). Unless it is as funny as Seto no Hanayome, i won’t give it a try. Just pray that AIC can make not going to scr*w this up.
21)Major 5th season
The 5th season of the adaptation of Takuya Mitsuda’s long-running baseball manga.
Shigeharu Honda is a Major Leauge batter on the rise. His son Goro is a Little League pitcher who one day hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps. Momoko Hoshino is Goro’s schoolteacher, and the first woman Shigeharu has been interested in since the death of Goro’s mother. The destines of these three individuals will become intertwined as father and son experience both heartbreak and triumph on the baseball diamond. (ANN)
I rather watch MLB (Major League Baseball) if i want to watch Baseball. Or watch One Outs!
New story about Cure Berry, Peach and Pine, not more information out yet. (MAL)
Anyone here like sailormoon or powerpuff girls? If you like either one of them , then u definitely going to like this show. Not my cup of tea anyway.
Keita Ibuki is an independent and struggling freelance computer programmer who had a chance meeting on one night with a high Mototsumitama named Kuro. He gives her his dinner, a bowl of ramen, and tries to protect her when she is attacked in an ambush by an unknown Mototsumitama. Keita loses his entire left arm during the fight between the Mototsumitamas, but Kuro was able to save his life by exchanging the decapitated arm with her own left arm since she has enhanced healing abilities like all Mototsumitamas. This creates a contract between them, which makes her more powerful than before. However, Kuro warns Keita that they need to be together all the time in order to be at their strongest. (Crunchyroll)
Curse you bandai animation! How can you do this? %^&*. Kurokami is a license anime in Japan and US as well, i really doubt i can find any fansubs group will take a risk to fansubs this series.
24)Hetalia Axis Powers
Based on a popular web-released manga series by Hidekazu Himaruya, this has been described as a “cynical gag” story set in Europe in the years between WW1 and WW2 (1915-1939), using exaggerated caricatures of the different nationalities as portrayed by a gaggle of bishōnen boys. For example, the Italia Veneziano character is into pasta and women. The Deutsche (German) bishi loves potatoes and sausages, and Nippon is an otaku boy. Installments of the manga have jumped back and forth in setting from the ancient times to modern-day geopolitics. The manga’s title comes the Japanese words for “useless” (hetare) and Italy (Italia).
If a normal person (not otaku) can understand the gag story & found it hilarious, then i should give it a try.
Based on a seinen manga by Sakuraba Koharu, serialised in Young Magazine.
Minami-ke is a manga following three sisters, Haruka, Kana, and Chiaki in their lives at home and school. It’s a funny series that depicts how these characters interact with each other and their classmates. It’s a story about ordinary girls and their ordinary adventures told in an extraordinary manner. (Anidb}
I like the first season of Minami-ke but i start to lose interest in watching second season (become boring) not to say third season. To make thing worse, the quality of third season will be the worst among other season. Unless they improve the quality of the animation, i am not going to watch it anyway.
26)Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo ( Girl Who Leapt Through Space)
The veteran anime studio Sunrise has opened a teaser site for a new project called Sora o Kakeru Shōjo [Sora Kake Girl or “The Girl Who Leapt Through Space (the Heavens)”]. The site provides no other information besides a promise that more details will be given in October 10. On that day, the official homepage will open, and there will be coverage in Kadokawa Shoten’s Newtype, Tokuma Shoten’s Animage, and Gakken Kenkyūsha’s Animedia magazines. The project’s title is an apparent wordplay on Toki o Kakeru Shōjo or The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Yasutaka Tsutsui’s classic novel that was adapted into several live-action television series, live-action films, manga, and an acclaimed anime film. (ANN)
I really don’t like any anime just consist of bunch of female as a main character but i don’t think i will give up this series either. This is because the producer of this series going to be Sunrise (at least got certain quality in it – code geass, gundam 00). Not only that Aya Endo will be one of the seiyuu of the main character (remember Miyuki of lucky star and Sheryl nome of Macross Frontier She is the one playing those roles in both anime). Maybe i should give it a try?
The best of anime 2008 list finally out. I have been waiting for it for a long times. I totally agree with most of award that have been given by Omni and Divide to those anime. Best action: Gundam 00
Best comedy: Kannagi
Best Romance/drama: True Tears
Best show you probably didn’t watch: Kaiba
Biggest shock: Code geass R2
Best animation: Kara no kyoukai
Best Soundtrack: Macross Frontier

Best of Anime 2008: Code geass R2
Reader’s choice: Code geass R2
I wish everyone here a Happy new year 2009. A new year means a lot to us but for me a new year means a lot of new animes coming up. LOL. Anyway ,I would like to give you guys some presents.
I hope you guys will like this specially designed card “nengajō”
